Victorian Council of Deans of Education

The VCDE is the peak body in Victoria for representing Teacher Education Providers.

It advocates for initial teacher education and further teacher professional learning.

VCDE aims to

  • Provide a collegial forum for members in Victoria to debate research, policy and other innovations in education to advance the discipline of education.
  • Be a source of expert advice for government, agencies and the general public on issues in education, especially initial teacher education and further teacher professional learning in higher education.
  • Form partnerships with stakeholders with interests in education to ensure quality in education through developments in policy, research and teaching practice.
  • Advocate for the education profession and enhance the public perception of initial teacher education and further teacher professional learning.
